Peoples Voice Project - Ukraine
During the Citizens Participation Week a number of citizen engagement activities have been carried out in all Peoples Voice project cities to highlight the importance of public imput and the rolr of ordinary citizens in improving communities. These activities  also promoted public participation in social programs and gave as many people as possible the opportunity to make their own contribution to community development

VOKA-Rural Organization for Community Activities - Slovakia

Presentation of sustainble development of marginalized rural areas - strategy of Muranska Planina  micro rayon development

The strategy was created for 15 months with active involvement of citizens from the micro rayon that includes six villages.

During first phase (first seven months) we collected and sorted datas, made the audit of sources and activated citizens by preparing meetings with the NGO activists, representatives of schools and churches, local councilors and businessmen.

In the second phase (next eight months), the working groups were made. The groups consisted from representatives of three sectors - local self-government, business and NGO. These groups were working on the vision, SWOT analyze, analyze of problems, goals, conditions of implementation and framework of monitoring and evaluation. The strategy of development was prepared for years 2007 - 2015.

The presentation of the strategy was on September 27, 2005 in the Teply Vrch village during the regional conference conected with the LEADER Program. The conference was organized by the Rural Parliament.

 
The Estonian NGO Roundtable - Estonia
The Estonian NGO Roundtable organized four big events during Citizens Participation Week:
  1. On the 24th of September we opened CPW with political fair in Parnu, where participated all political parties and fources of Estonia (local election in October).
  2. During this fair or as independent part of it we organized roundtable on issues of financing of NGOs activities and development of Civil Society, where participated representatives of NGOs and members of Estonian Parliament - Riigikogu.
  3. We continued our cycle of regional seminars of implementing of Estonian Civil Society Development Concept (EKAK). During CPW was held seminar in Viljandi.
  4. As this week was middle of our big project of seminar by implementing of EKAK, we participated and made first report of seminars at the meeting of Joint Commission of Estonian Government and NGOs for implementing EKAK.
