Abstract

This case study is about the community development work in the Upper-Kiskunsag, which is one of the poorest and most under-developed regions of Hungary. The development process could be interesting for professionals, because various new local institutions were set up by the citizens and they also formed a Community Workers Network. There is still a great fight to motivate local people to take real and long term responsibility for the future's development of the region, which includes community work, education and employment programmes.
